Swedish Massage is deeply relaxing and enjoyable. This massage is used to improve circulation, alleviate tension in the underlying tissue and gently separate points of adhesion (knots). This is a great introduction to massage therapy if it’s your first session.
This massage uses slow strokes and deep pressure to work on tight areas to release specific muscle tension and restore flexibility. Deep Tissue Massage is generally slower than Swedish, this technique goes deeper into the muscle and connective tissue to release chronic tension which might have developed from injury or overuse.
A sports massage can be stimulating, it can be relaxing, or it can be a relief from pain. It is designed to prevent and treat sports injuries, relieve muscle pain, working out the soreness, increase flexibility and range of motion, increase the circulation of blood in the body and increases flow in the lymphatic system. Sport massage incorporates a variety of massage, stretch and neuromuscular therapy techniques to help your body feel freer and stronger for an athletic performance.
In pregnancy, the body experiences many stressful changes. My clients choose pregnancy massage when suffering from issues such as lower back and hip pain, neck tension, leg cramping, swollen hands and feet, and overall fatigue. Each session is deeply relaxing, and tailored to work on the areas that you’d like to address.
I recommend this session for people coping with pain and tension related to Migraines and Headaches, too much computer use, TMJ Dysfunction, and emotional stress affecting the head, neck and shoulders. This massage uses a combination of Swedish massage techniques and Indian Head Massage techniques - areas that may also be treated are the scalp, face/jaw and the ears.
